Name: The Moby Project: Past, Present, and Future
Date/time: Wednesday, October 4, 2023, 2:00 PM - 2:45 PM Pacific Time
The Moby project is one of the highest profile open source contributions, but is often overshadowed. With this talk we will revisit The Moby Project's genesis, and highlight the work we've done to revitalize the project over the last several years. We will showcase current challenges, works in progress, and how contributors can be involved in the work that is going on today, including e.g. CSI, CRI, the containerd integration, refactoring, and bug smashing. We will also take a look in to the future of the Moby Project and its potential impact to the eocosystem (e.g. Docker still powers Kubernetes in most clouds, EKS, ACR, GCR).
